Our Camps

The MSO approach is to seek out middle-school aged youth in need and offer them free camperships. Week long camps are conducted during the summer at the MSO camp near Bear Valley California. The camps are activity centered and offer activities such as hiking, crafts, canoeing, baseball, swimming and archery, cave exploring and fishing.

At nightly campfires, there is special sharing time spent with the volunteer counselors. The campers hear about truth and life choices. It is a time to sort out lives and an opportunity for campers to get their heads and hearts healed. With camper to counselor ratio set at four to one, the youth have an opportunity to establish communication and relationships with adults.

Nightly Campfires

MSO camps serve the greater San Francisco Bay Area and are conducted at the MSO camp grounds. The camps are six days in length. Due to the needs of the teens at the camps, there are 2 counselors serving 8 campers per cabin. Campers arriving and expecting a week of fun and laughter, always leave with so much more.

At the nightly campfires, teens hear the testimonies of others who have been in the very situations they are facing. They are taught about love, forgiveness and hope. They learn the power of prayer and that there is someone upon whom they can cast all of their fears, heartaches and tears. They learn that there are people who care about them.

They leave camp with a new start and hopes and dreams for a brighter and more promising future. Ninety percent of the campers accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Upon their return to the Bay Area, the campers are connected with loving congregations nearby.
